Week 2 - Silence [Aaron]

Here we are in our second week of The Visualization Project; and I was very excited to show "silence" through these next pictures.

Silence. The absence of sound, and usually movement as well. I think of it having a sense of emptiness, loneliness, and solitude. A type of nothingness. Well, nothing is more silent than a sleeping baby, or a tree in an empty field. So, without further to do, here is what I was able to accomplish. Enjoy!

Week 2 - Silence [Nick]

First off, I'd like to apologize for getting my photos in a little late. I procrastinated and did not get my pictures in on time, but, nonetheless, they are here.

Silence. Hmm... Makes me think of an angry principle in an auditorium full of students. "Silence!" he yells. And then, the whole place is in, well, silence.

Now, coming up with a picture that described "silence" was the tricky part. I don't think I'd be able to get my whole school in an auditorium for just one picture, so, I had to improvise. The second thing that came to my mind was someone holding their hands over their mouth, blocking all sound coming from their throat. So, here ya go.

Special thanks to my little sis, Abi, for being my prop.

My third idea of silence, to piggyback off of what Bryce said, is the eyes. My apologies if it seems like my other sister, Paige, is peering into your soul.
Special thanks to her as well.

More pictures might come, I don't know for sure though.
Thanks!

Week 2 - Silence [Jeannette]

I liked the idea of doing silence as our word. Considering what I wanted to do, I thought we could easily do silence for a year and take a different picture every week. Whereas "shimmery" tended to have a limited number of ideas that really worked, "silence" could be portrayed well so many different ways. Several visualizations of the word that I could do and thought would work well came quickly to mind.

Unfortunately, I didn't, for a number of legitimate reasons-yet I will not deny laziness being among them-take much that measured up to my theoretical ideals.

Maybe that's good. There are fewer pictures that way. (Insert smiley face here.)

Week 2 - Silence [Rebekah]

When I think of silence, I don't think of the normal definition. To me, silence is not simply a lack of sound.

Silence is a lack of anything. It is a lack of hope, a lack of color. It is where you don't even try to make a sound.

This is what silence is.

Week 2 - Silence [Bryce]

Silence makes me think of the eyes. Eyes are so expressive. You can speak not a word, but someone can know exactly what you're thinking or feeling. The happy crinkle at the corner of the eye when you smile, the tear that makes your eye glisten when you're sad, the furrowed brow and the squinting eyes when you're frustrated or upset... it's all silent expression.

Psalm 62:5 "For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him."

Week два - Silence [Parker]

So apparently one of our readers knows Russian numbers. I was going to change the language so as to make sure everyone is confused but right now I don't care enough. If one of you wants to suggest a language you don't know feel free to do so.

The idea for this week's pictures came to me rather randomly. I am pleased with it because it worked out better than just about any other planned picture I have taken. This one required just a bit of setup.

Cheers to Isaac for being such a willing participant.
